Personal fascination of patterns found in nature and the geometry of the Fibonacci sequence is distinctly visible in Joanna’s work. The form explores the repetition of tessellated tiles and paper forms, shapes uncovered in micrographs of organic material and within the structure of cathedral vaults. She derives from the traditional and modern making skills and challenges the way objects are produced. Joanna uses bone china due to its semi-translucent qualities and combines it with glass, which  balances out the exploitation of additive manufacturing and hand skills and enhances the features of the light pendant.
